To paint what you feel
and see it mirrored in the sky and the trees.
To truly be here right now.

Liesel Arden is an Australian painter and poet whose work explores place, belonging and the dialogues between elements in the natural world.

Using  intuitive painting process, Liesel's works are created through the breakdown of elements within a space. Noted are things that hold significant presence and also subtle tonal shifts - capturing the movement of light and breeze.

A combination of physical and metaphysical elements are explored to capture the present energies and stories in a moment. Her work uses a combination of media including natural pigments, ochres and chalks - layered in between colourfields to create a tapestry of marks and washes.
